Appointment of Mayor and Chaplain Minutes: Appointment of the Mayor
The following nomination was received for the appointment of the Mayor:
· Councillor Anthony K Ramsay (moved by Councillor Wade and seconded by Councillor McDermott).
Councillors Wade and McDermott spoke in support of the nomination.
The vote was carried that Councillor Ramsay be duly elected Mayor of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham for the municipal year 2012/2013.
Councillor Ramsay returned thanks for his election and announced that his wife, Councillor Jeanne Alexander, would be his Mayoress and Mr Ben Ramsay would be his Consort.
At this point in the meeting, the incoming and outgoing Mayoral parties left the Chamber. On returning, the Mayor, Councillor Ramsay took the Chair.
Appointment of Religious Adviser
The Mayor appointed the Reverend Canon Paul Thomas OBE as his Chaplain. |

Vote of Thanks Minutes: A vote of thanks was made to the retiring Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Milton McKenzie MBE and Mrs Jemma McKenzie.
Councillor White spoke in support of the retiring Mayor, which was seconded by Councillor Wade, and commemorative badges were presented to the retiring Mayor, Mayoress and Consorts.
The Mayor marked the end of the proceedings and declared the meeting closed at 7:50 pm. |
